Phrases of footage (2023)

In early 2023, I hosted a workshop on Poetry and Cameraless Super 8 techniques with the Year 12 Visual Art Students of 2023 at the Victorian College of The Arts Secondary School (VCASS) and Sean Peoples.

The students used their observational writing journals as inspiration to make markings and draw on a shared fifteen metre reel of recycled, transparent film. We then went through the process of word collage and performing a recording of their word assemblages.

The resulting film Phrases of Footage was then shown at Intermission Gallery at Monash University and screened on the institutional televisions at VCASS.
